That’s right: you’re getting (at least) one new book from me in 2021.

Before we get to the book, let’s learn more about the site and this new pen name of mine, shall we?

The New Author Site

 

 

 

With a new pen name and new books on the horizon, I thought it fitting that my author site undergo a substantial makeover as well. With a site that now places an emphasis on my work as an author while also remaining scroll friendly and visually consistent, I think you’ll find the site far more navigable.

In other words, we’ve decluttered, and decluttering is good. It’s very, very good.

That said, you may find a broken link or two from time to time. If this happens, please let me know through my contact page. I’d love to correct anything I might have missed as soon as possible!

What’s in a Pen Name?

I’ve been torn for some time between my speculative work as R.R. Campbell (namely, the EMPATHY sci-fi saga) and the more contemporary side of the bookshelf that comes more naturally to me. As a result, I found myself writing a great deal of contemporary and upmarket fiction before finding myself unsure what, exactly, to do with it.

That’s where Ryan R. Campbell comes in.

Going forward, I’ll be publishing contemporary or upmarket fiction as Ryan R. Campbell, with speculative fiction in the vein of the EMPATHY sci-fi saga remaining under the R.R. Campbell pen name.

So, what will Ryan R. Campbell be publishing in 2021?

Meet And Ampersand: Short Stories on Endings and Beginnings (of a Sort), which will be published by Cedarbrook Books on April 12th, 2021.

And Ampersand is a collection of short fiction written over the course of the last decade. It elevates feel over form, brevity over breadth, and, at times, rhythm over reason—all in the name of exploring the connection between beginning and end, the links between life, death, and rebirth.

This collection marks my first foray into independent publishing, and I’m looking forward to publishing a number of titles from my extensive back catalog under the Cedarbrook Books name in 2021 and beyond.
